Why is the 'Send' button not working/disabled?
You have to do 3 things before the send button will be enabled:
1. you have to fill all the settings (you do that in the iPhone's settings -
scroll down and you'll see applications settings, one of them is iNvite).
once you've filled all the settings, open iNvite, and then you won't get the
welcome message again.
2. you have to put in a title for the meeting.
3. you have to select at least one required or optional recipient.once you do all 3 things, the send button will be enabled.

I can't open .ics attachments to see the details of the invitation. Is that expected?
On the iPhone/iTouch you can't open these attachments unless you have an exchange email account and the invitation was sent to that account - this is an iPhone OS limitation.

I keep getting an automatic response from invite saying something failed even though my invites are going through.
When you are sending an iNvitation, the smtp server settings that you've configured are being used.
If something is wrong with the settings, the system is smart enough to try and alter your settings in order to find the correct settings.
If it finds the correct settings, it will use it to send the iNvitation, and you will get an automatic response telling you what you have to fix in your settings, so please read the email and correct the settings - otherwise, the send time will be longer than normal (every time the system will try again to find the correct settings), and you'll get the automatic response for each iNvitation.In some cases, the system couldn't find the correct settings, so you are getting an email with all the options that were tried, and you have to make sure again that you have the correct settings. In those cases, the iNvitaions are sent using a default server, and that's why you see them go through. So, once again, you should fix your settings in order to make the iNvitations go faster and to stop the automatic response.
